Arnab Goswami is the owner and Editor-in-Chief of the Republic Media Network and is one of the most recognized faces on television. He did his graduation in Sociology from Hindu College, University of Delhi, and Master's in Social Anthropology from Oxford University, UK. He started as a reporter for 'The Telegraph' in the mid-1990s and later joined 'NDTV', hosting shows as a news anchor. In 2006, the Times Group launched its news channel, 'Times Now', which Goswami joined as its Editor-in-Chief. He used to host a prime-time debate show, 'The Newshour', which took him to great heights and cemented his position as the undisputed leader in the 9:00 pm prime-time news genre. He became a household name through his loud, aggressive debates and coverage of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, the CWG scam, and the Anna movement. Goswami's 2014 pre-general election interview of Congress's PM candidate Rahul Gandhi became the talk of the country, and as per some, influenced the outcome of the elections. Goswami left 'Times Now' in 2016, citing internal differences with the owners. In 2017, he launched his own news network Republic Media Network. He was conferred the Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism (TV) in 2008.
